Mandela Smart Park
About
Recreation and Parks officially opened the Mandela Smart Park on Tuesday, 24 March 2015. This inclusive space spans two hectares and aims to integrate the community and cater for their specific needs. The Mandela Smart Park contains an exciting mix of play spaces, active recreational facilities and areas where residents can relax and enjoy time outdoors. For those who enjoy spending their free time being active, sports facilities will be on offer in the form of multipurpose courts and kick-about areas.
Anyone looking for a cool space to relax outdoors can enjoy the comfortable spaces and picnic sites that have been set amidst the greenery and are linked by a network of pathways. The
Recreation and Parks Department has taken care to plant large trees in order to give residents an immediate sense of place and a source of shade.
